A day to remember, honor, and acknowledge the service, sacrifices, and contributions of the millions of veterans in our country but also active duty.
National ceremonies for Veterans Day take place at the memorial amphitheater around the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery. At 11am a color guard executes “Present Arms” at the tomb.
Veterans Day is a day to honor all who have served in the military, regardless of whether they served during peace or war. It's a day to recognize the sacrifices of veterans and their families, and to acknowledge the contributions they've made to national security.
